Sgt Braille has been with the Field Gun teams at Wellington College for the last month.  And it hurts, and its hard work for a small Bear!!

Well, it was an early start here at TPBD House*, too early after my weekend, but still I was up and ready. The sun was coming up and I was a bit dismayed that we were going to be stuck indoors all day. We got to TPBD's place of work, and I was having a look around when I heard growling. I looked round again, and noticed something moving in the potted plants.

The Spring Camp of the Black Watch Bn, Army Cadet Force, was held this year at Barry Buddon Training Camp, Monifieth. This was a very special camp for the Battalion, in the special year of CADET 150.

Sgt Slingsby volunteered to spend three weeks with the team at Samuel Brothers (St Paul's) Ltd, the Bespoke Military Tailors based within the Regimental Headquarters, The Royal Logistic Corps, at Deepcut [in Darkest Surrey].

Two Bears were privileged to participate in the 65th Anniversary of the Arnhem landings (Operation MARKET GARDEN).

It all began on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday when I, Cpl Arnhem from Sgt Slingsby's Team, was taken to the Aldershot Branch of the PRA for the Summer BBQ.

There's a bit of a mystery about The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, and how it all works.  So we sent Sgt Braille to report on the process.

The Battle of Verdun lasted  from 21 February to 18 December 1916, and resulted in more than a quarter of a million battlefield deaths and at least half a million wounded. It was the longest battle, and one of the most devastating, in World War I.

Part Two - Sennybridge (7-19 August 2009)

A week spent doing very little was suddenly spoiled by K13eod loading up his car with kit to deploy on Kent ACF Summer Camp in Sennybridge, Wales.
